New Year, New Product, NEW JEWELRY STUDIO!
I’ve been doing lost wax casting for over twenty years. After outsourcing the casting part of the process, I am truly grateful to have the space and means to set up my own bronze and silver jewelry casting workshop.

Winter break has left me some time to do something I’ve always wanted to do; get some actual

jewelry casting experience. Up till now I’ve had all my wax originals and jewelry orders from booth events and from Etsy go through a professional jewelry casting outfit, Tiny Desk Customs, because I simply didn’t have the setup or casting experience to do the job myself. They’ve done a fantastic job and I have no regrets. But now…
Beginning a couple of weeks ago I began taking Lost Wax Casting classes at the Ninety Twenty Studio in Portland. They have a terrific setup there for teaching everything there is to know about metal working for jewelry and whatnot, so I decided to take the Casting classes. They’ve been terrific, and I do my first casting today, with two more casting days to go until the end of the class.

Meanwhile, I finally got around to getting my jewelry bench in our big barn set up for spin casting. It’s 90% done, and in a few weeks I should be doing my own casting, from wax design to finished product. Feels good! I’m sure I’ll still be using Tiny Desk Customs for the occasional job, but the major production will be all done here. Wahoo!
I’ve got some new designs just about ready to show off, with at least 2 if not 3 designs all done during my time at Ninety Twenty studios. Here’s one of them, still in wax. Enjoy!
